I've been shopping from black owned brands for a while now, and since the #blacklivesmatter mouvement, i wanted to give more visibility to brands i have tried and loved and that are not well known.
My community is small, but like we always say, "A little can go a long way". Here i will share with you a list of black Owned brands that i recommend from all over. Wether it be Africa, Europe or the U.S, the West Indies, Asia, if it's black Owned and your girl tried it. I will surely spill the beans. (Laugh Out Loud)
Ps: Being Black Owned is not enough. Products has to be of quality and customer service consummate.
BLACKPEOPLESLAY
Blackpeopleslay highlights black identity and beauty through artistic representations of black women, black men, Africa, the West Indies and everything that encompasses black culture in general. Through strong and encouraging messages such as "I'm a sucessful Black woman" flocked on planners, canvases, cups, totebags or even t-shirts, the desire is to encourage the community but also to put forward black excellence.
First discovered the brand created by Ashley last year 2021 when she introduced her new planners that were a huge success. I myself hurried and got mines from the first batch.
Today i'm discovering the brands sweat-shirts collection and this "Savage" piece caught my eye. I love me some meagan thestallion so obviously i had to get my "classy, bougie, ratchet" on. lol
The sweat-shirt is made up of 80% cotton, is of great quality and smooth on the inside. You will find many different sweat-shirts with different messages and designs available on the website. Let me know if you find something you like.

EYSHEE COUTURE
This list could not be what is it if i didn't mention EysheeCouture. This Clothing brand created by the beautiful Andrea in October 2020, has been evolving since then.
I would describe Eyshee as a brand that is inspiring, endearing and chic. She creates pieces that speaks to every woman who dares not to be afraid and take full control of her feminity in all aspects.
Her brand is everything i love, from sisterhood to solidarity, inspiration and hard work.
I have tried multiple pieces from Eyshee and was always satisfied with the quality and detailed work in each attire. Details count alot with me and Eyshee never misses a beat in presentation.

NOUVELLE ALLURE
Nouvelle Allure is a brand that sells clothing with strong messages, such as Melanin, working girl, my melanin my power and lots more. Cynthia, the brand CEO has recently expanded her products by introducing accessories to her collection and including her laundry brand EKO that has been well received by many.
I have tried the sweat-shirts and T-shirts from Nouvelle Allure and the sweater is my favourite. It is made of 80% cotton and has a soft interieur with no itch at all. You know how hard it is to find some quality sweat-shirts. The only thing i would say is that, it is missing some sweaters with hoodies in her collecion.
I love the positive vibes this brand reflects. Sharing self confidence and self acceptance through the messages written on her clothing , that speaks to more than one.

AMARYS
Amarys comes straight from the Ivory cost. This brand presents us with unique pieces and gold filled handmade jewelry that are 100% made in Africa. The goal is to highlight the african heritage through their collection whilst working with local craftsmen.
I got to know Amarys through the plateform Afrikrea. I like to call it the african aliexpress, because it's a mixture of sooo many black creators and vendors.
What made me stop on amarys's page was this amenan pant set that was hand dyed by a local dyer in which they are in collaboration with.
This set is distinctive. The mixture of blue with the dyed detail and the design is all i needed at that exact moment. Can i talk about the fit as well? OMG how cute my butt looked in those pants that hugged every curve of my body and crop the top with the deep v-cut is perfect.

PROPA BEAUTY
Propa beauty is a lipstick brand based in Jamaica, that sells highly pigmented lipsticks that are extremely lightweight, with a clean paraben free formula and a beautiful luminous satin finish. Got my hands on three of their 19 shades which i took a liking to. Bare in mind that based on where you are ordering from, custom fees may apply. I had to pay 13€ to collect my order from the delivery guy, here in france.
If any of my high school friends or close friends saw this post i think that they might slowly raise their eyebrows in surprise. I have long been a no make up type of gal, and i used to be that girl that judged those who wore it. Looking at things now i think it's mainly because i can't do half of what those queens do. Up till this day i can't do a proper make up to save my life.
Started wearing make-up (eyeshadow, lipstick) when i was working as a cashier at a grocery store called Astaphans in Dominica. It's about that time as well that i became less of a tom boy and more of a woman.
Today, even with the mask issue, one product that i really like in make up is lipstick. Not to change my colour scheme, my favourites are still warmer shades. Burgundy, brown, reddish brown, mauve etc.
I am absolutely fond of Propa Beauty lipsticks. Got my hand on the deep mauve trio and babyyyyy, let me just say that it was worth it. The deep mauve trio contains three shades, obviously. (lol) Driven, that has a deep mauve tone. Her magic with a pretty rosy mauve tone and closer with a plum mauve tone. These are perfect for fall and keep my lips well hydrated, whilst giving it a satin finish. With these luscious looking lips i think i can open my own kissing booth. hahah.
